As the relief effort continues for the massive tragedy that has crippled Haiti, it was brought to our attention through one of our Marlton American Executive Centers clients, Mr. Tom Veevers, that a wonderful organization exists called ShelterBox USA. ShelterBox USA is providing financial aid to not only Haiti, but to tragedies that have plagued other parts of the world, too. Anyone can participate, as we learned from Tom who is District Representative of ShelterBox USA.
Each ShelterBox contains a 10-person tent and other survival essentials, such as, thermal blankets, multi-fuel stoves and cooking utensils, tool kits, water containers and purification kits, and children's activity kits. ShelterBoxes can be sponsored for $1,000 which in turn enables a family of up to 10 people to survive for at least six months! "ShelterBox is one of the simplest and best humanitarian programs I've ever seen," says Tom Veevers, RI District 7640 ShelterBox Representative. "This is one situation where we want you to ‘think inside of the box', where it will provide shelter, warmth, and dignity to disaster victims without duplicating the services that other disaster relief organizations offer." American Executive Centers' goal is to donate a minimum of $1,000, and to date we have collected approximately $900.
We encourage you to get involved in this unique opportunity to help the people of Haiti as public donations are vital to ShelterBox's continuing work in Haiti and around the world. If you are a client of American Executive Centers it's as simple as reaching out to your Center Manager to make a donation towards sponsoring an AEC ShelterBox.
