Networking can be a lifeline of support and business generation to any business...especially if you are a start-up or small business. However, for many business professionals, networking is a task that tends to be the least enjoyable part of the job, as it can be uncomfortable being the new person in an established group, and it takes more time and effort out of your already full day. I get that...trust me I do.  But, I am here to say that the initial discomfort of meeting new people and putting forth the extra time and effort that go into properly networking is worth it for your business!

Many of us know about the Muscular Dystrophy Association through the annual, national Telethon, hosted by Jerry Lewis. We at American Executive Centers are so proud of our mother and daughter receptionists, Cindy Hartman and Andrea Cronin, from our King of Prussia Center, who nine years ago helped to create a fundraiser on a grass roots level to support MDA after a young family member, Jake Hartline, was diagnosed with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, a type of MD.

If you're looking for a terrific cause to support in the Philadelphia region, one that our team at American Executive Centers became passionate about five years ago and is proud to help promote, is a non-profit organization called, "Philadelphia Reads." Philadelphia Reads' mission is to support and foster early childhood literacy in the city of Philadelphia. Each year our staff and many of our clients participate in several of the events hosted -annually-by Philadelphia Reads. One in particular we all really enjoy is called, "The Reading Olympics," (http://www.phila.gov/philareads/). Approximately 159 teams comprised of 1,700 students, representing 87 schools and organizations from all over the city of Philadelphia, compete in the Reading Olympics at local colleges, universities and the Free Library of Philadelphia.

Despite more cold weather than we'd like, Spring is here! With the flowers and trees blooming, it's time to get out there with a fresh tactic to get your message remembered.  The same stale tagline or commercial just doesn't deliver the punch you need to be memorable. Consider an "out of the box" approach for your relationship marketing/networking event. Then challenge your audience to give you a shot by asking for their business and do not disappoint...then ask for a warm introduction to someone they know.
