We at American Executive Centers take great pleasure in helping our clients to start, manage, and grow their small businesses. As a part of our efforts to help small businesses and start-ups, we and Evan Polin have offered various networking tips and related advice to those who are either looking for clients or trying to find a job in the first place. Still, it is important to know that effective networking is only half of the story. Once you have a person's attention, you need to know what to say - and how to say it.

In prior posts, we described how to create and use a Facebook page to market your business. (In other articles here and here, we gave tips on doing the same on Twitter.) Now, we wanted to walk you through LinkedIn - specifically, how to get started on the business-oriented social network, which had roughly 135 million users as of November 2011.

In the first post in this series, we explained how to create the first part of your LinkedIn profile, which you can use to help to market yourself and gain more clients and customers. In this second post, we wanted to describe the rest of the steps.
