Mike HowardToday, an Office Business Center's success is about more than just a great service or work place, while making a profit; it's also about making a difference, building a sense of camaraderie that our clients are yearning for, and giving back to the community. At American Executive Centers, we are always looking for these types of opportunities and we strive to partner with our clients to give back as a team.

This year, faced with the loss of an employee fighting breast cancer and feeling the impact the disease had on members of our team, as well as our families and business partners, we decided to create a program that would allow us to make a difference for the fight against breast cancer, together, with our clients. Through the creation of our Partnering for the Cure program, our goal is to present a check the first of the New Year in the amount of $5,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

Through Partnering for the Cure, we are not only helping to make a difference for a life threatening disease that touches the lives of one out of every six women, we are also helping to build client success...a win/win for everyone!  To raise funds for the charity, we have integrated our efforts with the themes of our networking and marketing initiatives throughout the year. One of our most successful events was our Walk for the Cure. During October's Breast Cancer Awareness month we scheduled one-mile Walk for the Cure events at all seven American Executive Centers' locations. The walks were led by our Center Managers and were followed by a luncheon for all participating Center clients and staff. Through the combined participation and support of our clients and staff for Walk for the Cure, we reached over half our fundraising goal. In addition, the walks presented a relaxed venue to foster client networking and camaraderie.

"As an entrepreneur operating my business at the Radnor American Executive Centers' location, American Executive Centers' Partnering for the Cure program allows me to feel like I'm a part of their team, doing something good together for the community," said Robyn Axner-Davis, President, Furman Communications. "By participating in their breast cancer awareness walk, I was also able to introduce myself to several of my fellow neighbors here at the Radnor Center, which has been great! American Executive Centers' Partnering for the Cure program is just one of the many ways this outstanding Office Business Center helps build success for my business."

In an effort to remind clients of how our services can enhance their success, while keeping with our goal of raising funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, we introduced special client Partnering for the Cure service promotions which we will be offering until the end of the year. These featured services include a Customer Referral Appreciation program, a Business Service Package, and an IT Support offering. Our Customer Referral Appreciation Program normally offers cash incentives for full-time and virtual client referrals.  During this promotion, to show our appreciation to our clients who honor us with a referral, we are also making a $100.00 donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the client's name.  For every client who utilizes our discount rate package for Business Support Services, we make a $50 contribution in their name. Additionally, we are offering clients a special promotional rate for Windows 7 upgrade assessment. Clients who choose to upgrade receive a $50 donation in their name to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

To help ensure we reach our $5,000 goal, American Executive Centers is raffling off an Apple iPad®.  This will surely put us over the edge!

Through Partnering for the Cure special offers, and Walk for the Cure participation at our Centers, our clients are building new relationships in our centers, giving back to the community, learning more about our services, and keeping us top of mind. Next year we plan to poll our clients and together choose the charity to support. It is my hope that we can team up as a group of Office Business Centers and aim for a bigger donation goal next year in support of a great cause. We are really proud to be supporting breast cancer awareness, and by broadening our contribution through partnering with other OBCs we can make an even bigger difference in our communities next year and help further influence building success for our clients!
