Many of us know about the Muscular Dystrophy Association through the annual, national Telethon, hosted by Jerry Lewis. We at American Executive Centers are so proud of our mother and daughter receptionists, Cindy Hartman and Andrea Cronin, from our King of Prussia Center, who nine years ago helped to create a fundraiser on a grass roots level to support MDA after a young family member, Jake Hartline, was diagnosed with Duchene Muscular Dystrophy, a type of MD.
The ladies teamed up with their spouses and Jake's parents, Eric and Mary Pat Hartline, and recently hosted their 9th annual backyard barbeque fundraiser. With the help of family, friends, and co-workers, this event is a yearly success with lots of great food, a much anticipated auction, and a 50/50 raffle. This year's fundraiser raised $12,737! Cindy Hartman commented, "In total, the nine fundraisers have helped raise over $100,000 for the MDA !!!! The generosity is overwhelming!!!"
Next year will mark the team's10th and final fundraiser, as they will have reached their goal. With your donation next year, you will be helping to fund the research needed to help eliminate Muscular Dystrophy. In the meantime, take a few minutes to read Jake's story. It is purely uplifting and is sure to put a smile on your face! A special thank-you to Jake for allowing us to share his story on our blog!! Please click here.
